Installing solar controller in a Tiffin Bus

In the 2022 Tiffin 37AP Bus, there appears to be a built in plug for a solar panel. It is located in the wet bay compartment. The owners manual states that if it is to be used, you MUST install a controller. Would anyone know how to tie in a controller to the plug and then to the solar panel wires? Am I right to assume that on the other side of the wet bay wall there are two loose wires coming out of this solar plug, which I can tie into with the mppt controller?

Solar Controller

I think you are referring to a plug for a stand alone suitcase style solar panel. This unit already has a controller located inside the "suitcase" so just plug it in and be good. How many batteries are you planning on charging with this system?

I have a 160 W portable panel which I use when parked on my driveway just to keep my batteries charged on my current rig. I installed my own mppt contoller and a plug for the solar panel. Since my soon to be, new rig, already will have a built in plug, I need to wire the controller to the new rig. I presume the new rig has the wires of the plug going to the battery bank. I was wondering how to tie in with the controller.

I have a 200 watt suitcase Xenergy set up, complete with it's own controller. I attach this directly to my battery bank when out in desert and I only do this to help keep things up through out the day. I do not know what plug you are referring to but if you have a longer run with wires you will need to size them correctly or you will not get enough power. The wires that came with this unit are about 10 feet long. Anything longer you need to go up in size for voltage drop. I would be doing some more research on this plug you have before adding solar to it.
