Inverter Problem

Out of the clear blue my Magnum Sine inverter is showing a brown out. Less than 100 volts on L1 . L2 normal. Power on L1&2 at pole OK. Unplug and run gen. power normal both legs. Resetting inverter has no effect.
I suspect a contact on pass thru relay is messed up . I suppose I am going to have to drop the unit down and open it up.
Has anyone had a problem like this with a Magnum ?

Have you checked voltage on the input and output side of the transfer switch? It's possible the contacts are burned on the shore power side or if you have a power reel the contacts in it are burned.

Generator power follows the same path thru the inverter as shore power. Its comes in at the ATS, before the inverter.

Start your search at the ATS and power cord.

I operated the reel back and forth a few times and the problem cleared up. I could not find any more info on line about the inside workings other than the drive mechanism. I don't know what type of contactors are being used. I will have to break it down when the weather warms up. Thanks all for your suggestions.

These reels are susceptible to failing after a while due to the brush contacts arcing. As far as I know they are not rebuildable and no parts are available.
