Issue with AC

I'm having a problem with my front AC. It turns on but does not blow cold air. After a while the compressor goes on and then it fine, but it takes a long time. Any ideas ????

How long (time) is a "a while" or "long time?
When you say it "turns on" does that mean the fan is blowing air, just not cooled air?
Is the compressor humming as if it's attempting to start then eventually starting?

No humming when it's on. The compressor doesn't click on. It just blows air not cold.

It's 50 amp service. Haven't even plugged it in yet. Just got it on Sunday. It's running on an Onan 7000.

Just came into the coach now and the AC is working fine!!!! Don't know what's up.

Is there a method to turning these things on ?? Should I turn the front on before the rear?

Should I be turning on the front unit before the rear? Does that even matter

It all depends on what you mean by a "long time." Our compressor has a 2-minute delay before it starts. If the fan is on high or low, it will start within a few seconds. If the fan is on auto, it will not start until the compressor starts.

My compressor and fan start at the same time(Dometic). It doesn't matter which one you turn on first.

I try to alway start with the fan on low to reduce the start-up load.

I had a similar issue a few years ago with a ( Coleman ) A/C on my 35DH......the fan would start ....but the compressor wouldn't ...it would just hum/vibrate....then kick out......ended up needing a new " hard start capacitor "....

Odd thing is ....Im having the same issue today with my #1 A/C unit.....on my 40 QTH . I do have a spare capacitor....may change it tomorrow and see what happens. Thank goodness for 3 A/C's
