Kenwood DNX 775 RVS has no Navigation voice
The navigation voice on my DNX775RVS does not work. What happens is the radio volume decreases. At this point I expect the Navigation voice to come on with some navigation information but it does not. After a brief delay the radio volume returns to normal. What could cause this?

Could I suggest that you check and adjust the volume when the navigation voice is in progress. I find that my systems actually have a separate volume system for the navigation both in my Buick and my 2010 43 QGP Allegro bus. Same thing for the blue tooth phone connection.

I have an android based magnum unit and had the same problem. It took a call to the manufacturer, it took them a while, but there was a place in the settings that turned the navigation voice on or off, separate from anything else.

Try Settings>navigation>voice prompts
Manual indicates prompts can be on/off

Hi David;
I did a search of the manual for the word "prompts" The word appears twice, once on page 5 and once on page 16. In neither place does it say "prompts" can be turned ON/OFF. Can you tell me the page number where this appears? Also, in a previous call with Kenwood I was told I have the latest version of the firmware. Application Version 2.9.0008.5200. The Kenwood website says the latest firmware version is S_V2_7_0008_5200. That would mean the version installed on my unit is newer than that of the Kenwood firmware update site. That seems curious. Can you tell me what version are installed on yours?
Tiffin won't send me an exchange because of the cost ($1700). They want me to go to a dealer for warranty service. The first dealer I called said they would not touch the Nav system, the second made an appointment for Sept. 15. The very nice and attentive service scheduler said she knew nothing about RV's and in fact had never been in one. It is not a critical problem since I am happy using Apple Car Play, it just bugs me that an expensive piece of electronics does not work correctly. Thanks for your help.
Ken

I found it on page 15/16 of this manual.
By the way, how’s the fuel gauge working?

Look one post up.
I also have firmware 2.9.0008.5200, and for now I am assuming this is the latest despite what is shown on the Kenwood site.

I set the fuel gauge to "straight rail" and it looks much better. I'll know for sure tomorrow when we travel to Vermont.
I e-mailed my salesperson and she informed me the Kenwood problem is not uncommon and knows of 4 other instances at her dealership alone. She hooked me up with who I think is the chief engineer of the 340's at Tiffin. Being the weekend I might hear something Monday. She said Tiffin is working with Kenwood to nail this down.

Try calling Keith Selby...( Kenwood Rep ) He was at the Tiffin Rally I attended. I believe the volume for the nav has to be adjusted when the radio-nav is first turned on. His number is (317) 727-2524
