i switched all of mine from halogen to led. don't know what the wattge is but it's definitely less than before. upgraded those to some with a higher lumen rating. makes a world of difference. you just have to be sure to get lights with the same fitting.

superbrightleds.com. Your current bulbs will have numbers on them you can use to cross reference to ledís on this web site. You can also search amazon.

We went with 4000K lights in the living area and 3200K in the bedroom. The living area is nice and bright while the bedroom has softer lighting.

Replaced all of my interior lights with LED's. The bulbs that came out were standard 1156 Auto bulbs. Tried the super bright LED's but they were too bright. Went with the standard bulb from Amazon 10 bulbs for $11.99. Efoxcity 12V 1156. They don't get hot and use much less power then standard 1156 auto bulbs. Very happy with the upgrade.

You are looking at 1 to 2 watts as opposed to 10 watts per replacement. The main difference is the heat that is produced, nearly none from LEDs. The next difference is the brightness. If you go with the 3000K to 4000K this looks much like the color of light that are use to seeing. If you go with 6000K the light is very white light much like you find in a new commercial building. You could do surgery in the RV. Another difference is the fact LEDs are good for 50,000 hours. There is no downside to going with LEDs. Hope this helps.

All good advice above!

Light bulbs are rated in lumens. Wattage only works in limited situations. A 60 watt incandescent bulb may emit 800 lumens.

Color of the light is important since many LED lights have narrow color range. The brightest LED's have high blue content. People with cataracts often have difficulty with them. Yellower lights (lower K value) are often more relaxing.

You may have to buy more than one bulb until you find one you like. Sellers often don't post relevant info or are inaccurate.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!

led lights

Thanks everyone. I think I have enough information to make a shot at the conversion.

We did the conversion on a boat about ten years ago. The Halogen replacements have been around a long time. The difference is that there is no thought about using the lights. Changed out house with a remodel about six years ago. Only complaint is that LED under cabinet lights were not available and we had to install Fluorescent lights. Those tubes have been replaced twice, since. The LEDs all still burning. In general, if you can afford the change, do it. If you can't pay the freight, save up and do what you can when the cash is available.

We switched out all our lights on the 2011 Bus. Great results.
