LED lighting
I recently took advantage of some down time here in Red Bay to puchase some spare interior lights. I decided to buy a few LED replacements to be used as needed. I replaced three, and I am now a convert. The lens over the miniature halogens get too hot to touch. The LEDs are cool to touch. The light is off-white instead of orange. I was told that the current draw for the entire suite of lights is 8 amps, but when they are changed to LEDs, the draw is less than an amp. Think of the impact when boondocking. They are not cheap at $7 each but, because they run so cool, the lifetime will almost certainly exceed that of the coach.

I did the same thing late last year and converted all the 10 watt halogen lights in the coach. Now I can fire up all 40 lights and only have the draw equivalency of having 5 lights on. It's great if you dry camp a lot which we do. And your right the lens is as cool as can be even after having the light on for over an hour.

I have done the same thing but the only thing I do not like is that you can't dim them down very much, not even close to the halogens. Which in the main area to watch a movie just doesn't work. A small inconvenience for the trade off. You know, I just want to have my cake and eat it too..

Check eBay and you may be able to find the LED lights you need at half the cost mentiond in this post ($2.50-3.50).

What are the part numbers, brands, what prices are you finding, etc for the LED's you are using? I know there are T3-G4 12V, 10W Quartz Halogens in the ceiling pucks, the sconce, above the dining table and bed reading lights are # 912's which are W9 series 9.5mm wedge base.
I want to make certain the LED's I get provide at least as many Lumens as the Halogens. Some LED's are dimmable you just have to make sure you get the correct ones.
I just went through all this with my Alpine coach. I changed the Quartz Halogens to LED's and added several more - then I change coaches - go figure!
Thanks

I'm going to do what I did in my Alpine for low light level TV viewing illumination. String a piece of rope light across the front from side to side. There is enogh room between the power shades and the valence and a an electrical outlet behind the passengers seat. I had a dimmer switch on the cord and it made great low energy low light level lighting...

Triple h electronics in red bay is the one selling them for 7 bucks talk to Dallas .he will hook you up. I just spent 400 dollars and still need about 100 more dollars worth to finish the inside. Google revolution led and they sell the big 300 lumen for the spotlight on both the outside drivers side and passengers side.eBay is actually where I bought the led lights for the spotlights. Remember the led on the inside on the ceilings won't dim as much as the stock lights
