I’m having an issue getting my leveling to get both yellow leveling lights off. My question is whether the slide outs will operate if there is a yellow out of level light on, or if they will operate even if the RV isn’t perfectly level. Thanks.

I know most don't use the auto leveling, but what happens when you do it using the auto mode? You should level with the slides in, get it leveled, then put the slides out, and relevel if needed. It's possible the level controller has a bad zero position. You may try following the instructions in the manual to reset the zero.

Harry, why would most not use their auto-leveling?
Mine works like a dream and I would not think of not using it.

Dunno. But when the question comes up, there are a number of respondents that say they don't use auto level. I've tried it both ways, and it's a bit quicker for me to do it manually.

In my experience, auto level tends to extend jack's too much, especially if front end is low. Possibly there is a slight bias in our auto level. About 98% of the time auto level is right on. I may tweak level after auto is complete. And, I double check level after slides are deployed.

I would check level with an actual level on the floor and by watching a couple of swing doors, I use the mid bathroom door, to see if the coach is level. Then check your lights. If they are on, the sensor needs adjustment.

I also have the Level Mate Pro, which once set up tells you how far out of level the coach is. I use this to determine if I can simply level or whether I need to drive some of the wheels onto my wood ramps to avoid excessive Jack extension.

The short answer is, yes they will. As others have said, hit the auto level and this will get you to perfect or in the ball park. Adjust manually to your liking and pop the slides. Recheck after slide deployment and manually adjust if needed. I usually use our mid-bath door as our adjustment point as I hate when the door slams. Sometimes I just use my golf ball.
Some sites I cant get perfect, and adjust to make sure all wheels have some ground contact and live with it.

How do you adjust manually? We just purchased a ‘21 Phaeton 40IH and I’ve already had several “excess slope” warnings when the rv site pad didn’t appear to be that bad. Both times it was sloping down in the front and the jacks extended all the way out.

I guess we need to also get some jack pads. I’ve seen some black snap pads that cover the jack foot, maybe those help prevent damaging asphalt rv site pads. We are still learning so all advise is much appreciated.

I have snap pads. While they can be difficult to install, they won't fall off and will give your jack pad more surface area, and is easier on the ground/asphalt.

As far as adjusting manually, most touch pads have a manual or auto level button. Press the manual button, then extend the jacks, one set at a time. Usually front first, followed by rear. Then extend them; front, rear, left, right as needed to get the rig level.

Are you sure your auto level is working correctly? Do your air bags dump first? Is the MH level when the auto level completes successfully? (There are some great phone apps for checking level! )

On our 2014 Allegro Bus I've had the excessive slope, but it was because the slope was too much. Purchased Lynx levelers for those times.

I have found that the air level works best for us, I use HYD when the site is not where I think the air level will work as well.

Along the lines of what DRM901 suggested, you ought to assure yourself that your Auto-Level system is providing the right inputs to your jacks to get your RV to level. My Open Road is a 2016, so I'm making an assumption that the HWH system on mine is similar to yours. If that's the case, your jacks are actually leveling a "reference plate" (Sensing Unit) that is signaling the lights on your dash Touch Panel to indicate level/un-level. On mine, the Sensing Unit is bolted to the fwd. wall of the basement compartment where my Hydraulic Pump is located. See if you have a similar sensor in a basement compartment. If you do, first assure the integrity of its attachment to whatever surface it's mounted to. Mine was loose, so leveling results were never consistent. Then, once you are past that step, see if your sensing unit is adjustable. (Sensing Units made after 2010 are supposed to be adjustable.) If it is, I've attached the HWH adjustment procedure for you to assure your Sensing Unit is actually calibrated to level. (Your will need to have a jumper wire with alligator clips to do this procedure.) 1st, using a good level inside your RV, manually get your RV to what you believe is level, and see what your Touch Panel is telling you. If you still have Yellow Lights showing on your Touch Panel, then perform the calibrating procedure to bring your Sensing Unit to level. When you get your Sensing Unit to correspond to what you feel is your independently obtained level condition, then your Auto Level should bring you back to that level with each automatic cycle

Absolutely agree that you need to make sure your system is operating correctly. I just had the sensor plate adjustment issue on my HWH system. The knowledgeable folks at Master Tech in Elkhart quickly straightened out a couple issues on my system. Now it works as intended/designed.
And someone commented about quicker set-up; mine now does its job in about 2 minutes !
