For all you folks out there with the LG Home Theater System (BH6730 series -- up or down) who may need or want to replace this system I have found a worthy candidate. I have had intermittent Optical connectivity issues as well as other performance negatives for some time, however since this system powers a passive subwoofer our replacement options have been slim to non-existent. That is until now. Please inter the Pioneer VSXS-520 slim line receiver. This is a modern, high performance audio video receiver that supports 4K video (if you want it or need it) with WiFi, BT, and a host of other high line options as well as incorporating a power amp for the sub. The only negative is that it does not have a BR Player. However, you do have the option to add one of your choice (good, better or high end ---). Installation is easy, as the form factor is almost the same as the LG, and setup even easier. I am more than happy with this upgrade!!

Thanks for the info! I’ve been looking at replacing my LG system.

The Pioneer was my first swap in my Tiffin. In my SOB that's all that would fit so when I sold it, I included the LG along with the sale. It seems to work very well. I paired it with a cheap Sony Blu-Ray player from Costco, an Amazon Fire Stick, and am pretty happy.

I'd like some better speakers, but the in ceiling speakers are what they are for now....
