Little Side Windows in BR Slide

Hey Guys... Has anyone come up with an idea to enable the windows to stay only partially open?

Ours are either fully open or closed.

There are many times when we want them open only an inch or so.

Ideas?

I have occasionally put a spacer on top of the screen bottom half and the handle that opens the window. That holds it open as much or as little as you want.

I have several 1-1/2 X 2-1/2 X 1 inch blocks. I open the window and put the 1 inch side of the block the screen and let the window top frame drop down on the block. Depending on which side of the block is up, I can have the window open 1-1/2 or 2-1/2 inches. I also use a block for the passenger side window when I want it open a little.

Interesting how what is old, is new again. In old houses, you would use a board with 4 - 6 notches (think stairs) to hold a wood sash open.

Hey guys... thanks for the suggestions about the blocks. I was using a binder clip and it was working ok, but not great.

We'll be home in about 3 weeks, and I think I have just the stuff in my shop.

Thanks again!
