The 40QDP is actually the first floorplan that my wife looked at and really liked. It was spacious and had the sink the bedroom. If Tiffin hadn't released their 43QRP last year we may have purchased the 40QDP.
I don't know if in 2005 Tiffin offered the residential fridge option or not, but that would be something of interest.
Keep in mind that in the later models, Tiffin started offering a tile walkway from the entrance door to the kitchen area then later offered the full tile living area. I believe in 2005 the aisle in tile might have been an option. I really look at that as an advantage to avoid carpet soiling.

thank you Joe-k.
This unit does have the carpeted living area. Was not a plus at all. Already soiled. Bathroom area was very small-tight. Can't understand the second sink in the bedroom
Build date was 6/2004 on the chassis. Unit has been parked for some time. Tires have some serious cracks. Rear muffler and tail pipe have significant rust. Wood work was respectable. Oddly placed computer screen in the center of the dash with a wireless keypad. Very awkard for either pilot or co-pilot to view while seated. Considerable black tracks on the kitchen tiles from the slide rollers. Streetside rearview mirror blinded by coach window frame.
Manual gennerator tray took two people to extend.
Probably will not be at the top of our list.

I have a 05 40PDQ and we love it. Sounds like the one you looked at may have some problems, I would sure look underneath to check the rust. The sink in the bedroom is the best thing they have ever done, my DW uses it and I use the other one so we are never in each others way. The computer in the dash is the navigation system, an expensie option. I have the IFS but some had the beam axle, the IFS has a better ride. I looked at one in TN that had evedently been run in the salt up north, those are ones you need to avoid. You won't regret getting the PDQ.

Just had another thought, if you can go up to an 06 or later the bay doors open to the side which makes it a lot easier to get to the bays.

bdaball,
I'd be more leery of an older coach, like that one, with just a few miles on it as opposed with one with high mileage. As you already know, these things work best when exercised. Like us, if they just sit, they go to ruin. If the interior hasn't be maintained any better than what you described, how about the drive train and working parts of the coach?

We have a 2005 Allegro Open Road, the entry level coach. It is gas and only had about 5,000 miles on it when we traded for it last year. Unlike the one you describe, ours was pristine with good tires, no carpet stains, etc. If it had had the soiling and the tire cracks you describe, we would not have given it a second look. We love our coach!
