Looking for a Phaeton 40QKH with Tub option

We are looking to upgrade to a Phaeton 40QKH. We are looking firstly for the bathtub model, then all electric then heated floors. I believe 2015 was the only year where the first two options were available. Unfortunately the tub models are quite rare. Hopefully the forum can help.

I had no idea a tub was possible. Good luck in your search. I'm sure you have tried this but, go on rvtrader, put in the brank, model, and then at the bottom you can enter a "key" word. If you create an account any time a new listing comes in your saved search you will be notified.

Tubs were not a popular option even when they were available. I think your chances of finding a 40QKH are close to zero. You might want to call Tiffin and see if they ever built any with the all electric option and the tub.

I suggest you find the coach you want and then have the tub retrofitted to the bathroom. This assumes that you can even find a tub assembly and that you have deep enough pockets to pay for the retrofit.

Options

I will make inquiries of Tiffin, both in regard to past build numbers and if it is available as an unpublished option on a new build.

Our alternatives are to keep our RED QBA (with a tub), or to move to another manufacturer.

There is one listed and described on RVTrader as "39" TUB IPO SHOWER" (IPO=in place of), but it sure looks the same as the standard shower which has a little low "lip".

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is actually what is described as a "tub" or if the ad is just wrong?

Wife and I are curious what this tub option looks like. Not sure yet if that's something we would or would not want, although as we have noticed (and is confirmed here), it is not a very common option at all so I doubt we'd find one anyway!

I have also attached separate pictures of this rig's enclosure that the seller sent me.

I believe you are looking at a tub. It is not always obvious how high the tub “lip” is. The more definitive items in the picture are the placement of the water taps and soap dish/grab handle. In a tub these are lower, accessible from a sitting positions where they are placed higher in a shower.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. I will have to look at and compare this more closely. I really can't totally tell and have not compared these back to back in person.

We have a QKH but not the tub option. Unless its for a small child, I can't see any useful function. The bathroom in this model is quite tight.

Size of the tub

Actually we currently have a RED 38QBA with the tub and are looking to upgrade. My wife prefers a tub bath as opposed to a shower and she is petite and flexible enough to use it comfortably. We also travel with grandchildren who are still too young for a shower.

For us, the tub is the deal maker or breaker.

Those pictures are definitely not a tub! I have a Monaco Windsor with the garden tub option, and it has the water faucet mounted on the tub, and a shower too! The diverter valve/knob is in between the hot and cold knobs! The tub is small, but would work well for kids, small adults. It is a high step in and out, especially out! Rail!

Well I could be wrong

But the picture presented is remarkable similar to the tub in our Tiffin Red.

This is a pic of the inside of Mona, and if you look really close to the shower/tub you can see the high door, sorry I don't have a better pic! I will look for a better picture!

Here is one I found on the web, similar but not exactly the same as ours! Ours has the hot and cold and the diverter on the wall, and the tub faucet on the tub same as this one! Rail!

That is a very nice Garden Tub, it is significantly larger than the tub in our RED or the Phaetons. It may be that the Tiffin tubs are sized as shower replacements where the Garden Tub probably aren’t shower replacements (just guessing).
