Loose Screws, Nuts, and Bolts

MHs are notorious vibrators and you can always find something that has vibrated loose. I apply Loctite on all loose screws, nuts and bolts before tightening. They don't come loose again. Loctite can be found at any automotive parts store. It is well worth the cost.

A word of caution...

Loctite is a company name, not the name of a specific product. Loctite many different adhesive products but the one I believe you are actually suggesting is their line of "Threadlocker" products, of which there are several to select from and some could cause problems if used in the wrong application.

Loctite Threadlocker is available in a number of different formulations and several also come in different types such as liquid or paste. The two most common formulations are "Red", their highest strength. The red products are so powerful that they require heat to be disassembled. Do not use this one unless you know what you're doing.

"Blue" is their medium strength product and it is the one I believe you were intending to suggest. It cures fully in 24 hours and can be dissembled with simple hand tools. It is available available in a liquid, a semisolid (paste) in a syringe like dial dispenser and a putty tape like product.

It is also worth noting that some formulations require a primer to be applied but some of the "Blue" products require only a clean surface.

We've had good luck with using a small squirt of clear silicone caulk in the hole for common trim and wood screws that may be required to be removed some time in the future. Obviously, for the toad base plate and other bolts that require they absolutely MUST stay tight we use Loctite Red.

Check the label for restrictions on material. Some of the products can't be used with or near plastics and vinyl.
