magnum energy inverter need reset

Hi everyone

Im having to reset the
magnum energy inverter
Everytime I disconnect/ connect the Plug from shore
The set of batteries are new (3month old )
Any idea what could be wrong

What year/make/model of coach?
What do you mean by “reset”? Do you mean you have to climb into the basement compartment and press the “reset” button on the inverter or so you mean that you do something on the inverter remote control panel? What is the inverter doing that makes you think you need to do anything?
Normally the inverter should be turn on and left that way to let it do it’s inverter/converts/battery charger thing automatically.

Coach is a 2017 Tiffin Allegro open road

Once the power is disconnected from shore while moving from one site to another
The inverter stop working
The Refrigerator, fireplace and TV stop working
Also the Voltage on display start to drop so the Inverter isn't charging
I didn't touch or change any configuration
To get it back on , I need to reach the compartment where there is a breaker with On/Reset next to the inverter
With the power off I switch to reset for a few sec then back On

Once the inverter is back on the display shows around 13.4v
And everything works as it should be

Have you tried turning off the fireplace before disconnecting from shore power ?

The fridge and fireplace may be overloading the inverter.

If you do have a remote control make sure the inverter is turned ON. It should pretty much always stay on, it’s normal operation is completely automatic.

No digital remote
There is only one small switch next to the entry door to turn the power from the battery

From the Tiffin Owners Manual:
“ There is a three position selector switch on the converter/inverter labeled “AUTO/REMOTE”, “DC OFF”, and “CHARGER ONLY.” This switch should be set to “AUTO/REMOTE” to allow the inverting function to be enabled. The inverting function can then be enabled/disabled by the “12 VOLT” switch located just inside the door. Inverting is enabled when this 12V disconnect switch is “ON” and disabled when the switch is “OFF”.”
Does this match what you have? I believe I was mistaken and you do NOT have a Magnum inverter, the one in the manual does not look like a Magnum. Here is a link to the Owners Manual. Page 62-63 are where the inverter operation is described.

Do you know what is the manufacturer and model of the inverter? Also when you are getting ready to disconnect from shore power and start driving you are not turning off the “DC Power Switch” located just inside the entry door are you? If that switch is turned off it will turn the inverter off as well and your refrigerator etc will be without power.

I don't have a remote or a way to change the settings
The model in my coach is a
MM1512AE
Not sure why is it different than the one Tiffin shows
Probably it was replaced by previous owner
Also
Just realized I'm having the issue after adding an electric cooler which stays connected all the time
Will try to test inverter with the cooler off

If the electric cooler that you added is being powered by one of the outlets that is powered by the inverter you may very well be overloading the inverter. Your inverter will only provide about 12-13 amps before it goes into overcurrent protection mode.
What kind of electric cooler are you talking about? Anyway, unplug the cooler and see if your problem goes away.

PS…when you get around to testing to see if the newly added cooler (which is in addition to your refrigerator, entertainment system and whatever else is already being powered by the inverter), make sure that you are unplugged from shore power and that you are not running the generator. You want to force the inverter to be the only source of 120V AC power.
Something that many people don’t understand is that the inverter has a switch built into it that recognizes that an external AC source has been connected (shore cord or generator) and automatically bypasses the inverter and begins to “pass-thru” the external power. In some cases, like yours, the external power that is passing thu will provide more current than the inverter can without tripping a circuit breaker. The inverter monitors internally how much current it is providing and will shut down well before the input AC breaker will trip. That’s why everything is fine on shore power but when that’s not available and the inverter has to try to power everything itself it shuts down and goes into an overload fault.
When this happens you should see the green power light flash 4 times and repeat every 4 seconds and the remedy is to push and hold the power button for 15 second to reset the inverter just like you said in the beginning.
