Maiden voyage

We bought our 2003 Phaeton in Dec and it has sat in the driveway since we brought it home the 20th. Today we took it out to fill up the gas tank and take a little trip to pick up a Senior America the Beautiful pass at Mascatituck. We took the dog to get a preview of what she might be like also. Well it was quite a trip. A buzzer went off as soon as we got on the highway and up to speed and the dash idiot light said "low water".I knew the water level was ok but we called the dealer and they said naturally that we were low on water. I pulled off and checked again and the water level was at the minimum mark and ok.This is exactly where it was when we did the PDI and the guy said it was ok.The buzzer never gave up for the entire trip which was about 100 miles.Nerve wracking!!
The dog was nervous and pooped in the RV and then on the way home the battery bay door flew open so I had to pull over and try to close and I could not get it to latch. The latch was very loose and the cover lock would not catch.About three tucks and numerous cars pulled alongside and tooted the horn at us to get our attention. We were just trying to get back home!! Good thing the bay was empty!
Whew!!!! what a maiden voyage. Got it home, parked it and now trying to relax a little.I will tackle the Bay door tommorrow but I don't know what to do about the warning buzzer.
Any thoughts why it would go off when the water level is ok??The engine temp never even got to the normal mark on the gauge.

wait for the rad to cool down(saturday morning) remove the rad cap and see if you can see antifreeze.if the rad and resevoir are full it could just be a bad sensor.any warranty with this coach?

No warranty. I was going to add a little to the radiator tommorrow and see if bringing the alevel up to at least halfway between min and max and see if that was the reason the warning lite came on. If that does fix it I am going to be mad at that mechanic that did the PDI cause I asked him wht it looked a little on the low side.
