Manual Retraction for Tiffin Allegro 36 UA

Can anyone provide instructions for the manual retraction of the bedroom slide (electric) and the room slide (hydraulic)? We have been on the phone all day with Tiffin service folks and our dealership service folks troubleshooting why our slides will not retract. We are at the point of needing to do manual retraction. We have to be out of our spot. We have a booklet on how to jump charge the solenoids on the hydraulic room but can't locate any instructions on the bed slide. Any help?

Look at the Spyder panel on the outside near the driver's side front. I think on all '17s, there should be two recessed buttons at the top of the panel that are emergency retract and extend. That should retract all slides at once so make sure there are no obstructions before you use it.

Where did you get a booklet to jump charge the solenoids on the hydraulic room? We were having problems until we replaced the 4 6V coach batteries on our 2014 Open Road SA 31. It would be nice to have some documentation in case of an emergency.

The bedroom slide uses a Schwintek system. Since the drive uses a 500:1 gear reduction, you won't be pushing the slide in manually. One way is to disconnect both motors, push them up to disengage the gearing, and push the slide in. Then push the motors back down to lock them in place. Not sure you can do that too easily on a Tiffin.

The main slide is hydraulic and could be retracted by opening the retract solenoid and pushing the slide back in. You could probably hold it in place by cutting several 2X4s to block the slide closed (put between the wall and the top lip on the slide once it is in).

Your better bet is to get a mobile repair tech who knows how to repair slides.

Update - sorry I dropped off. We were able to get troubleshooting support from Tiffin over the phone and they ran through all the normal things - shutting everything down and starting over from scratch, checking fuse box, checking to make sure 12V batteries were not turned off, checking parking brake, etc. Bottom line is that everything seems to have power. We think for some reason that the message that lets the slide motors know the parking brake is on is not working. So, they talked us through connecting the selenoid directly to the slide motor with a charging wire. This worked for both the bed slide and the full room slide (hydraulic). Once the wire connected the motors started and the slides went in with no issue. We drove it to our dealership and they are checking it out today. I will post another reply once we have confirmation for future reference. It is good to know you can get them to retract in that manner. Not a true "manual" retraction as I thought when I first posted the question.
