I’ve seen instances where a solar powered light with motion detection attached to back of unit. Some (I have some around my house) let you select various options such as: come on only when motion detected at night, light always at night on low power but switch to high when motion detected, always on high at night.

I have a Tiffin RED and it doesn't seem to have a switch for dock lights, but would be a good solution.

I agree that Rest Stops are not the best but sometimes that's what's available. Some here in FL have picnic areas behind the main area... that's where I go and thay have very light traffic and are safer.

BTW, I sleep very well with a Mossberg pump in the RV.
