Mirror fell down

Our Open Road is two years old. This afternoon, driving it home (from the dealership for service of all places) we hear a crash. Wall mirror in bedroom on back wall totally fell down -- fortunately did not break mirror nor frame but damage to wall and to floor. Just glued on and we admit we are more than annoyed that this could happen but glad no one was hurt. Took it back to dealership and will get the cost of repair next week. Not under Tiffin warranty and doubt our extended warranty will cover it. Can't believe it was not better secured - and we take this motorhome on no gravel nor rough roads. Anyone else had this?

Unfortunately, IMHO all of these newer type motor homes are stapled and glued together, at least every one I have looked at. You need to be paying several hundred thousand for a used, or a million for new, RV bus conversion to get high quality interior work. I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but there are limited ways in which "stuff" may be fastened to the composite walls the RV is made with. They are fine given the price we pay, but they are what they are. Mine did not fall down but has those mirror supports under it, you may want to do the same.

Glad to hear no damage. I had a big mirror in a house come unglued and was lucky lights in front of mirror stopped it from falling to floor. Unfortunately things like this happen with all kinds of man made products. Probably wont happen again. Dave

Yes picaro it happen to us right after we bought it. Glass fell out as DW was opening door and caught her across forehead just above her right eye. I bandaged her up but damn it was close. Local dealership where we got it repaired it with staples and heavy on glue. This after I found it loose and they said it was fixed right than.
