I have the same thing on my 2011 35QBA. I purchased the unit in 2013, used, then tried to find out what it was for and the best answer was that it was installed at factory to try to prevent some of the sway, rocking, and dog-wagging his tail motion out of the coach. Not sure if it is the truth but I quit trying to find out why it was there. Now moving forward, I still have coach and thinking I like the idea of removing it. I have done lots of suspension mods and don't think I need this extra weight. If it can be used to deter those cat thieves then that is a possible idea but I guess the mystery is do we still have to carry this dead weight or is it okay to cut it off. I have the 22k chassis and any extra weight I can get rid off is great...

Perhaps a previous owner had a problem with a dropped drive shaft, and thought the frame may help avoid damage if it happened again.

Could be the beginnings of a belly pan, to smooth out the air flow underneath?
We're all looking to improve the aerodynamics of our rigs.
