Need help, Distance to ground from 33AA

Hi All:

I am in the market for a new 2021 Tiffin 33AA. I need to know the length in inches from the bottom of the front bumper to the ground after the coach is aired up. I also need to know the distance in inches from the bottom of the tow hitch to the ground, again up and running.

You see I have a very, very steep driveway, its 225 yards long. I make it up the steep incline with my 2019 Open Road 32SA. But I think it sits higher than the Red 33AA. It's the first part of the driveway going up that I am worried about. I don't want to bottom out trying to make it up.

The length of the 32SA is 34 ft, vs the length of the 33AA 35 ft. Hoping a ft difference would not make a difference.

Any help would GREATLY be appreciated.

Regards Jim P.

Roadmaster drop hitch with roller. Friend of mine used one to get into his driveway. Worked well.

WOW..... that is really cool. That is a GREAT idea. I have to put my order in today and am very hesitant because of the unknown height? I wonder if these things come in different drop sizes?

That link doesn't work for me either.

I'd call Tiffin and ask what the ride heights should be.

Just ask for sales when you call Tiffin. They will be happy to help you.

The roller drop hitch I believe comes in 4-6-8-10” drops.

Check Etrailer or Roadmaster website.

I could be wrong and hope someone with more knowledge than me will chime in, but a thought about the hitch wheel. The hitch installed by Tiffin on the 33AA for towing is rated at 10,000 pounds and a tongue weight limit of 1000 pounds. Depending on high high the rear must go to clear the driveway I am assuming that that weight might be exceeding the strength of the hitch itself and damage it. When we had fifth wheels we had rollers for this purpose but the weight being handled on the rear of a trailer is far less than a pusher with the engine behind the rear wheels and we had two, one on either side.

I would also measure the overhang on the rear end of the coach, it will make a differenece too. If the overhang is shorter then you probably won't have any issues, it it is longer then you may. I think someone makes a wheel that just attached to your hitch because those wheels shown won't work for most tow bars unless it's a ball mount tow bar. Good luck.
