New Tiffin Owners!!

Well, we just signed a contract on our first RV, a new to us 2013 Tiffin Phaeton 40QBH. It is essentially brand new since it only has about 1400 miles on it. Apparently the original owner had a change in circumstances, didn't use it, and traded it in on a smaller Class C motorhome. At least that is what the salesperson told us. Due to work schedules, we are scheduled to take delivery on 4/30th. Very excited. Had not originally planned to purchase so soon but it was the perfect floorplan for us, seemingly in excellent condition, and was able to get a good price. So I have lots of items to work out - insurance, place to store it, etc.

I know you will love your Tiffin, we also have a 2013 40' QBH. Spent two weeks in Red Bay, fun in the dust. Enjoy

Congratulations on your new coach. With only 1400 miles on it, the original owner apparantly never used it because it's over 1000 miles from Red Bay to New Jersey.

Now that you have it, head for Tiffin RV Network where you will find a bunch of Tiffin owners ready, willing, and able to answer any question you may have.

Don't worry too much about Red Bay. We had to go last month to swap out a mattress. Since we were there we had a few adjustments/fixes made that our local dealer could have handled. We were only at the Service Facility for 5 days and 2 of those were the weekend. It's just a really busy place.

All Tiffin owners should go to Red Bay at least once. It's a right of passage, kind of like youn girls getting their ears pierced. It only hurts for a little while but you'll like the results in the end.

Congratulations! We're still riding high on our new purchase - same model and color as yours. We took our first trip over the Easter holiday, and had a wonderful time. Read all the manuals, tried out all the features. Our dealer did a fabulous job of preparing the rig for delivery - there were no issues at all! Now we're ready to plan a longer distance trip. Good luck with yours, and we'll see you out there!

What are you planning to tow with your rig? We were wanting to tow our Yukon, but it's an AWD. May have to undertake some significant modifications to tow an AWD vehicle...

What to tow?

Haven't decided yet. Will need to get a different vehicle since our current ones are not 4 down towable (at least without mods). We are leaning towards the Ford Edge. From what I have read both the FWD and AWD are towable as long as you don't get the adaptable cruise control and some of the other fancier options. From the Ford website and the Motorhome Magazine dinghy guide, it seems it is towable.

What tow bar, baseplate, brake system do you have or are considering to buy?
