Newbie ready to buy

Sold the house and we’re ready to buy. We have done our due diligence and we just love Tiffin.
Question...we have the floor plan chosen, now we have to find a coach near us (Phaeton). If I know what I want, should I still go look at it first, or do I get an inspection specialist to look at it first OR do I go with the inspector?
Thank you for any wisdom that you can provide! [emoji1365]

If you were spending as much money on a boat or yacht, you'd have an inspection where that third party you pay would encourage you to be with them. They would want you there so you could ask questions and they could point things out to you to look out for as they conduct their inspection, gathering data for their report. However, when shopping for RVs, hardly anybody does it. Dealers even look at you crazy, claiming they do the inspections themselves so why would you waste that money. Really bad dealers may even try to charge for that "service".

Next to your house, this will probably be your 2nd most expensive purchase ever. Do what you feel the most comfortable with regardless of others who would talk you out of it.

I didn't have a third party inspection as I felt comfortable enough given I watched Tiffin build my unit from the ground up. That said, had I watched my boat being built from the keel up I would have still paid for an inspector and tagged along before taking possession. I cannot explain why this dichotomy exists even within my own brain. Go figure....

Best,
-Mark

If your buying new, probably need to contact Sherman or Davis RV dealers in Mississippi. Dave

You don’t mention if you are buying new or used. If used, a reputable inspector would be very helpful if you are not familiar with MHs. Also be there when the inspection is done so you know what to look for.
If new, get a good PDI. There are a few checklists that you can use to go thru a MH with, very helpful...Enjoy!!
