No hot water

We just DE winterized our 2015 32 SA. My husband put in the plug and made sure water was in the hot water tank before I turned on the hot water heater. It fired up for a few minutes then went out. However, the water did not get hot. Then I noticed the burner never fired up again. What could be the problem?

The first thing to do is to make sure the valve from the LP tank is open. Even if it is, it may take a few minutes to get the air out of the lines. First thing in the spring, I always used to first try to light one of the burners on the stove as an indicator that the air was purged out.

If the stove lights and the water heater still won't fire after a couple of tries, the next thing to do is check the burner tube of the water heater for an obstruction. Spiders sometimes like to build nests in there.

Keep us posted on what you find.

Furnace and water heater (Gas) systems are much alike.. Search for threads about non-op furnaces where I have posted and you may find my Furnace troubleshooting guide.

Ignore Blower and Sail switch references.. as the water heater does not have those.. Else they work the same. (Assumes Direct Spark Ignition).

Sounds like your husband didn't move the bypass valve back to it's normal position. Check the wet bay and the valve.

Actually, I'm the guilty party. I forgot to bypass valve.
