I am not surprised with everyone just looking to sue someone these days it had to happen.
I spent the entire month there watching my 2010 43 Bus being built. It was priceless as they say.
A great loss for sure.

So it takes effect in December. If this new policy is because of their insurance company's concerns why is it not effective immediately?
I think there is more to the story, and wouldn't be surprised to see a major announcement around the first of the year.

We have a 2019 Open Road 36LA on order. We have not received our build date, but are anticipating a December build. While we were planning a visit at some point during the build process, this change is understandable. While I do believe it is primarily a liability issue, productivity concerns could also be a factor.

Insurance companies are getting snotty lately, but I can understand this. Folks who have never been in a manufacturing facility can easily get hurt by sticking their fingers into things they shouldn't. Unless Tiffin installs a guarded area for observers, they should be kept off the assembly line.

I don't know I think that the distraction level of having random people walk around asking a ton of questions while your trying to do your job would be a good thing to stop. Quality may go up, employee focus level should be better.

I think they really do not want a buyer to see their shoddy workmanship. Construction of most all RV's is getting worse all the time. Not talking about just this brand though.

We visited Red Bay last January and took the tour. It was fantasic, but we were surprised we only had to wear safety glasses. Right thru the plant and across the production line. What this world needs one less of is two things, LAWYERS and INSURANCE ADJUSTERS.

This is probably long overdue. I loved being able to watch my coach being built but this level of unescorted, unrestricted access to the production line is an accident waiting to happen

Ditto that! I'm just glad we were able to watch ours totally last year. Missus and I commented then wondering how long this would be allowed to continue.

I chatted with a tiffin owner a few months back at the campground and he showed me pics he took on a visit to red bay. I was shocked at how much freedom they had to basically be anywhere they wanted to go. He even said they were stepping over looks of wire, and various other construction pieces and equipment. Seems to me it was just a matter of time before they stopped this

We were just in Red Bay last week watching our motorhome be built. We even met with Bob Tiffin and told him we enjoyed having the ability to watch construction. He said nothing about changing the policy. If anything, he said he would try to keep it around for as long as possible. I will say, we caught several issues during the build that we were able to fix right there. Normally these fixes would require another trip to the service bays. I hope Tiffin quality does not go down due to this change. They are building these motorhome quickly.

I'm curious as to the number of problems (insurance-wise) they have had since doing this.
