OK What's the combination?

As you may have read, we just purchased a 2014 36LA. We absolutely love the layout.

However, when we rotated the cabin seats, the passenger side works great, but the driver's side won't rotate completely around due to striking the steering wheel. We've tried moving the seat back, laying it back, adjusting the armrests and steering wheel, etc.

Should the driver's side seat be able to rotate 180 degrees just as the passenger side?

No real big deal, but would be nice when we have others visiting.

Thanks,

We don't have the same rig, but on ours, this is the sequence.

1. Lift steering wheel
2. Move power seat all the way back
3. Tilt seat back forward
4. Rotate seat until it hits the steering wheel
5. Move power seat all the way FORWARD to clear steering wheel

This sounds correct. If it's not it is real close. On mine I never remember the exact steps, so I just keep moving it back and forth and moving the back of the seat. The steering wheel does have to be in the up position.
Also, always turn the seats in toward the center of the MH, and not the other way around. (The driver seats turns to the right and the passenger seat turns to the left). Turning the passenger seat to the right could damage the wiring under the seat. I know; it took me a while to reconnect the wiring harness.
Thanks,

Thanks for the input.

I'll try doing it as per the steps listed. Also, I do know that rotating the passenger seat towards the right, WILL disconnect the wiring underneath.

Ask me how I know?!!

Maybe that's what happened to ours. I made up a new harness with more slack in it when I repaired it, though.

Different rig, but same procedure. It takes a while to get it down pat.

I still lay claim to the comfy chair tough!

It sounds crazy, but on some you have to actually move the seat forward. When it turns, the base mount then gives the seat more room because of the way the seat is mounted to the base.

This is exactly how mine works. Seems counter intuitive but this is only way mine will clear the stearing wheel.

It helps to disconnect the seat belt near the window.

OP here.

LT. Dan is absolutely right. I moved the seat as far as possible TOWARD the steering wheel, and (I would have never believed it) this is the answer.

Thanks you Lt. Dan!!!

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Just be careful how FAR you turn the pilot seat. Ours had short connector cables & when I turned that seat too far, it pulled apart from the connection & shorted out on the base. Once I got the wiring fixed, I had to reset the fuse in the panel outside.

Moral: If after you've turned the seat around all the controls on it no longer work, check for wires pulled out underneath.

It helps to check which way the wire harness wraps around the pedestal. If installed the wrong way it leaves less slack to rotate. Try unplugging, reversing the wrap and reconnecting. You may have a larger arc available to position the seat.

Last summer my wife was sitting under the awning when I came out of our coach grumbling under my breath. She asked me what was wrong and I told her I had tried to turn the driver's seat around to see how it looked. I'd never bothered before. She jumped up and said "I'll show you". I grabbed a beer out of the cooler and by the time I went inside the seat was turned 180 deg. I guess I'd forgotten she turns both front seats around to clean them each time we come back from camping. She gave me a quick class and there's nothing to it now if I can only remember.
Mine works the way Lt Dan describes.
