Onan Generators

I just recently purchased a 2007 tiffin bus - it is a fine machine except that I am wondering about the generator.. It starts hard and wont run for more than a couple of hours before shutting itself down. I know it has been sitting for a while, I am not sure how long.

I run it every day for as long as it will run, I thought that running it might get it running like it should, it was serviced prior to my driving off the lot. Any ideas how to clean this thing up so it can become dependable on those hot driving days in South Texas.

Tks

Wayne-H.
Tiffin installs an inline fuel filter that you probably need to change. Go to the Tiffin RV owners network and use the search to find out more.

First, Coolant level is critical on the onan. Next, if you have the Xantax remote panel with auto gen start you may simply have inherited the previous owner's settings for when the generator starts / stops? For instance, it could be set to shut off when batteries reach "float".
