One end of hydraulic slide out not working

We received our 2016 40' Phaeton QBH in January and except for the standard fix-it lists, we have been very happy with it....but we need HELP HELP now.
--Yesterday when we were prepping to leave campsite, we pulled in each of the back slide outs and all was well. Then we pushed the button to retract driver side largest slide out, which is hydraulic. Only the end farthest from front of coach started to retract. The forward end just sat there!!
--We have tried the button again several times but had same result--farthest end moves in and forward end stays in place.
--Our campsite was sold to someone else last night, so we had to leave.
In meantime, did some research and found that it was possible to manually push the slide in.
We got help and pushed it back in. We are in another campsite again now, but have tried but cannot find a dealer that is not "swamped with work".
--is this anything we can fix ourselves? Can just a regularTiffin RV dealer fix it or is it better to go to Red Bay? Can the slide out slip back out while driving now??
Any help will be so appreciated.

Questions.
Have you found the fluid reservoir and checked the level ?
Any idea of the brand name of the hydraulic system on the coach ?
Any sign of fluid leaks on the ground, or in the area below the slide?
Do you know if the slide uses one or two hydraulic rams to operate?
Slides with one ram have a gear driven shaft to drive the opposite end of the slide and you could just have a shear pin failure.
If you have two rams, have you found the hydraulic ram and made sure it's properly connected at both ends ? Possible a loose bolt dropped out of a mount.

Hydraulic repairs should be something any dealer could handle .
Your only having problems with 1/2 of the one slide and with being able to push the slide in , that rules out some possible faults.

Unless Tiffin did some changes, the slide on the DS is electric, one small motor runs both sides, chances are a bolt snapped or a gear failed. You should be able to see it all on the ceiling of the basement compartment.

I second this. Had the same problem on my 2006 Allegro. Replaced the bolt and worked fine.

Have had 2 of these slide mechanism failures. His slide action is a classic indicator of the failure of the shear "roll pin" on the front drive gear on the electrically driven DS slide. This is a pain to work on due to the location and design of the bracket that holds the shaft for the drive gear (if it was about .75 inch wider, it would save a LOT of time in the repair.

You can do a temp fix with a grade 8 bolt and self lock nut, but you really need to get a roll pin in there asap.

My unit is an 07 Allegro Bus. If Tiffin still uses this type drive system, I could show them a much better design for that gear which would make this an easy repair, and allow you to get on down the road.
