Also filling out my option sheet on a Phaeton 40IH and appreciate all the good information here. Agree with what most say about the Nav and especially don't like that I'd have to purchase maps every year to keep them updated so I will go with the Gamin 780. I already use BaseCamp with my motorcycle Zumo and have lifetime maps. My question is if I don't option in the Kenwood GPS, what will I get for a stereo system in its place? Or does Tiffin just deliver it without music and I'll have to find and install something else? Is there just a plate in the dash where the Kenwood goes?

most likely a 2 din semi-decent am/fm/cd blue tooth phone ready unit and since it’s 2020, maybe even apple carplay which would really be nice. And if it doesn’t you can replace the stock one with a nice Kenwood or Sony with CarPlay for $500-700.

The latest Garmin RV unit is the 890 - 8” screen, campgrounds, RV dimensions all that. I have the optional OE nav in my 16 Ventana and it is fairly weak even compared to google maps. I think I’ll stick a suction cup mount on it for a garmin unit

If you do not order in dash nav, I would expect a low end Kenwood double din unit. Our '19 40IH came with Kenwood DPX593BT - ok unit, am/fm, bluetooth, SiriusXM, no CD. This unit provides functionality we need, but UI is horrible - it is not touchscreen. You can get a really nice Kenwood double din head unit with wireless Android Auto/Car Play in the $650 range. With our unit, we are about 95% SiriusXM or bluetooth. I am currently looking at Kenwood DMX906S, which is discontinued, or comparable newer. Newer Kenwood units are shorter (depth) and have multiple camera inputs.

On the subject of Phaeton 40 IH options for 2021, I find it interesting they don't offer a Dometic fridge/freezer option like their competitors in this class do.
Also the build sheet has an option for Novara Bianco tile floors for $1525. The std floor tile is Vicinity. Assuming the Novaro is the shiny white but can't find any details on Tiffin's site. Funny Novaro was standard in 2020 and now its a $1525 upgrade.

Vicinity is tile that looks like wood (non shine finish).

You can get the freezer. You can get lots of things that are on the bus. You just have to ask about them (and pay of course). We are ordering one soon that will have Bus seats in it.

I’m hearing no tours these days back at red bay.

I’m curious. Seems many option up to be like a bus. Why are you not just buying a bus? Jeff

About 50K more for a 40 IP Bus. Same engine, same chassis.
