OTA HDMS9100 antenna HD View 360 wiring short

I have a 2013 Allegro Open Road. I could not get the HDMS9100 to work. The control interface displays "CA" continuously. Thinking I had a bad antenna, I ordered and installed a new antenna, same model. I installed the new control interface also. To my surprise, it did not work either. After looking deeper and using a multimeter, I found that two of the three wires from the antenna to the control interface were shorted to each other somewhere. I was able to prove my theory by running a separate three wire harness out the window to the roof and to the antenna from the control interface to the antenna and the unit then worked fine. So somewhere in the hidden depths of the coach, the wires are shorted. Has anyone else had this experience. Any suggestions as to what to do?

I assume you are not the original owner and this is not a warranty issue? I also assume you have not talked to Tiffin about it? Short of taking your coach to a dealer, or to Red Bay for a possibly expensive repair to pull new wires, you could consider getting the new Winegard Razer antenna that apparently has wireless control, and only requires a coax connection to it .... and not the three wires that the HDMS9100 has. Then again, the Razer antenna is pretty expensive in its own right.
