Overheating

I have a 2011 34QFA Red; I had some overheating issues last summer and since had freightliner service, drained/flushed radiator. Purchased used last year. Has any one had similar problem?

Have you also thoroughly cleaned the outside of both the radiator and the CAC, (charge air cooler)

When last summer did you have overheating issues?
Up steep grades?...on flat/level roads? ...in what OS temperatures?

Actually both. Freightliner assured me they have it fixed and I haven't had chance to test. I was mainly wanting to learn if this was a reoccurring or systemic problem. It doesn't appear to be and I can't see why it should with type of engine, transmission and coach weight. Thanks for your response.

Need to change your thermostat AND coolant. Seems that thermostats are popular culprits from personal experience.

If you have a Cummins ISB, make sure it is not the fan clutch. Quite a few failures with that. Your vintage engine does not have a slobber tube so the radiator does not get nearly as "gunky". If it is the fan clutch, the overheating can be intermittent at first, independent of whether you are climbing a hill. Pull over when it is overheating and check to see if the fan is running super fast (it should be ) or if it is slowly spinning.
