I seriously doubt that's true. Their web site still says a Family Owned Business.

And dis guy told me he could get me in on the ground floor.. but I'm a second story guy.... /nudge, wink

No news of such acquisition on Reuters or the websites of Thor Industries or Tiffin.

Perhaps he's confused this with Winnebago buying Newmar a year ago.

That was getting kicked around Red Bay and Facebook last week. Definitely not true, and there was no basis for the rumor.

Fake News.

Probably just a jealous Thor owner wishing he owned one of the best . . . Tiffin.

I had a Thor before my Tiffin and it was JUNK! The rumor of Thor buying Tiffin is probably just an early story intended to be scary for Halloween...

I'll bet money Bob Tiffin would go out of business before that would happen.

Why? His kids hammered the Tiffin brand and Bob had to come back from retirement to set things right. He still cares (along with some long time staff) but the writing is on the wall - when Bob fully retires the kids will maximize *their* return on Bob's lifetime of work, whatever form that might take.

All of this hand-wringing and pearl-clutching is amusing to me. Y'all don't understand the nature of Capitalism. EVERYTHING is for sale. EVERYTHING. It's easier and faster if the price is right.

As to Thor - I own a pre-Thor Four Winds (originally a rental unit). I've got a passing interest in what Thor does with the brands they acquire. By a number of accounts, Entegra has been improving under Thor Industries ownership. Thor's own brand? Eh, not really. Neither is likely the direct result of ownership by Thor Industries.

TI is a holding company and acquires profitable companies to increase market share (just as REV Group and Winnebago do). "If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em" is a valid capitalistic response.

I have been told by a couple of knowledgeable senior Tiffin management employees that REV Group has a standing "name your price" offer for when Bob or the sons decide to sell.
