Parking Brake Interlock

Hello all, can anyone tell me where the electrical interlock switch is on the parking brake of my 2003-4 Tiffin open road 31 DA gas workhorse HWH leveling jacks? I have had several occasions that the relays are clicking and pump maybe pumping but jacks not jacking. Key switch on accessory, parking brake mashed through the floor and lights on the jack panel. Thanks for your help.

If you can hear the relays and pump, it’s not the interlock, I would be checking the fluid in the reservoir.

sounds like you have a poor wiring connection causing low voltage to either the relays or the pump motor. check all wiring connections especially the ground wire connections. Low voltage or low amperage to relays can cause them to chatter and is usually caused by poor wiring connections. Your safety interlocks could possibly be the cause due to a loose wiring connection or corrosion. I would look for the parking brake safety switch somewhere around the parking brake pedal.

Aw ha, after looking under the dash in the E brake pedal area for the switch with my snake camera while moving the wires around the jack unit begin to work . So a loose wire I think, leaving on a trip in a couple of days so when we get back I’ll have to take out the drivers seat so I can get under the dash to find the exact wire. Thanks for the response.

Yes, definitely a loose wiring connection. You need to get that fixed asap as it could damage the relays or the pump motor. I would find the wiring connectors around the E brake pedal and disconnect then reconnect them. that will probably solve your problem. Make sure all wires are pushed into the connectors, sometimes they come out of the connector a little ways and cause bad connection. You could actually look at each connector with your snake camera to see if any wires are not properly inserted into the connectors.
