Passenger Captain Chair
The chair has a foot rest which can be elevated by pushing a button the chair’s side. It no longer works, any ideas as to what could be the issue?

Check the connections at the switch, they are notorious for becoming unplugged.

Lift up the skirting of the seat and check to be sure all connections are securely connected. while there, check to be sure you are getting power to the seat using a voltmeter, then check power at the switches if necessary.

If the raise function works it is easier to view underneath if the seat is raised.
I have had a seat with an extra function like this have an inline fuse under the seat when basic functions were in the chassis fuse location in fwd most drvr side bay. Check the wiring for the footrest as they can get pinched / shorted if it gets in the wrong position.

Go check the fuse in the basement below the drivers seat. For some reason mine trips periodically.

I think it's called the co-pilot seat. I agree w/checking the connections under the seat. That seat does rotate to face the salon & the wires are notoriously tight under there. The connections can come apart easily.

On my 16 Phaeton, the switch is easily removed to check the connection plug. Had to use tape over both halves of connection keep it together.

Our history and research
Step one - verify that the breaker in the DCD panel is not tripped.
Step two - what was suggested above - verify all plugs are properly connected.
Step three - some of the seats were installed with the wrong cable clearance holes for the cable that was installed. Inspect the cables for worn insulation and breaks.
Step four ...... never got to this one. Always found that one of the above problems was the root cause and required correction to repair the problem.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like a broken and frayed wire, unfortunately I think you have to be a contortionist to get to it.
I think I’ll wait until one of my much younger sons can check it.
