Phaeton deadbolt issues

2014 40qbh. Tried to shut the door, and it just bounced. Took a look and the deadbolt had extended, and it was stuck! Fortunately, we were not locked in or out, but I had to disassemble the lock from the inside. Got it all back together and working, but has anyone got a permanent fix? I applied a good amount of grease to the bolt, but there has to be something else.

Not sure if you were using your FOB or a key but we had an issue with our FOB didn't open up the lock from the outside luckily my DW was still inside and was able to open it. I did the same thing took it apart, checked it out, lubed it up. Then a few days later we couldn't open it again this time we couldn't open it from the inside either so I had to take it apart to get it open. Looked at it once again "adjusted" the deadbolt lock and now leave a set of keys in the car at all times because I'm not sure if its a FOB issue or lock. I couldn't find any similar issues on this or other forums so I assumed it's not a common issue but I'll follow your post just in case. Did you see any wear on the mechanism at all or was it loose at all ?

There is a modified/updated deadbolt available from the manufacturer. Call them with your door numbers located in the door jamb.

Thanks for the reply. We don’t have any fobs - everything is key only for us!
