Phaeton paint issues

I have been shopping for a Phaeton in the 07-10 range with specific floor plans, engine, price and length in mind, which, from previous posts, you guys out there have helped a lot!

After finding a coach with everything I was looking for except it has paint issues on the back quarter, passenger side, starting behind the refrigerator grille. Approximately a 5'x7' area.

I've seen small webbing in the paint finish previously on other units, just due to weathering, but this appears to be long cracks.

The dealer, which is 1000 miles away, has been very upfront with the problem but hasn't seen it before.

Has anyone come across this issue before? I'm concerned what it will look like 5 yrs from now.

Any info would be great! Thanks

I'll bet someone's going to tell you it was painted by Thor.

Probably not a paint issue but a bad sheet of gel coated luan. There was an industry wide problem with bad panels on the earlier end of that date range you gave. Suggest you pass on that one.

Here’s a discussion a couple of years ago about crazing.
