Portable Satellite Dish X2 Pathway

I have a 2022 Allegro Open Road 34PA with an in motion Satellite on the roof with a Wally receiver.
It works great as long as there are tress around. I want to get a portable satellite dish like the Winegard x2 Pathway for when I am parked in an area with trees.
My question is, when I plug the portable dish into the sat receptacle on the outside is there anything I need to switch on the inside or will it automatically start up?

My Wally powers a portable carry out dish.
No power supply needed.

The X2 gets its power through the coax from the Wally. I have a Carryout G3 that works well but has a power supply that goes in the wet bay where the coax connects. The X2 has a larger antenna and is reported to have better reception.

Above is correct, gets the power from the receiver. Another benefit of the Pathway X2 is if you are in the eastern half of the US and don't have high def locals, you can use the X2 and get high def, it that matters to you.

I have had the X2 for a couple of years. It is a great antenna. Sure beats a Tailgater.

My question is do I need to swap coax on the reciever to disconnect it from in motion Sat when I use a portable dish?

Yes. The Wally needs to connect to the Tripod coax connector. This coax nipple should be labeled in your AV cabinet. Connect the Wally coax nipple to the Tripod nipple via a short coax cable. Connect the X2 to the Tripod coax nipple in the wet bay (at least that is where mine is located).

Depends on how your system is set up. On mine there is a slide switch inside the cabinet where the satellite boxes are. Slide it to the left and it is the tripod, slide it to the right and it is the roof mounted Travel'r. Nothing has to be disconnected.

If you don't already have one, a coax A/B switch will let you switch from the roof antenna coax to the wet bay "tripod" coax.
