Pre-purchase Inspection

I searched the forum but could find nothing on pre purchase inspections. We are in the process of buying a 2107 Tiffin Breeze 31 BR. The coach is being prepped now and a technician will be completing a pre purchase inspection. Our walk through and inspection will be next week. We hand over the final check on our acceptance at that time. Is there a source of pre purchase inspection check lists that we could use to guide us through the process? I realize the tech should catch everything but I would feel better confirming the condition of the coach on my own (or at least confirming the techs work). I realize that all dealers are perfectly honest but know that techs can miss things.
Any sources would be appreciated.

You certainly want to have a pre-inspection done. Actually, as soon as possible, prior to the delivery as the inspector will certainly find issues.

The standard is NRVIA
https://nrvia.org/locate/

I can't say that I was really impressed with this group, they did some checks, but overall, if you can find a good mobile RV Tech, that may be a better choice.

Further, be sure to get an RV appraisal on the value of your purchase through David Lester. David is on Facebook under RV Pricing and Values.

Get a private appraisal (that you pay for) before completing the purchase.

Thanks for the advice

Appreciate the advice. I have been trying to find an inspector in the Grand Rapids Michigan area with no luck. I will check the mobile repair people down there to see if they provide the service. I served as the inspector on our last purchase and caught 95% of the issues. The newer chassis are a bit out of my scope of knowledge. I tried the locator for the NIRVIA group and it found no results.

Don’t forget, the “tech” works for the dealer

Success! and thanks to all.

After heading some sage advice (thank you very much) I searched for mobile RV technicians and found 3 that offer the service. I called the highest rated one. I understand why he had great reviews. $150 later I will have car facts check, current market evaluation and two of his people meeting me at the dealer to do the inspection. He said they will arrive early so the inspection is ready on my arrival. Contacted the dealer to let him know. He was glad to hear it and said he had ween these guys work before and was impressed, not always happy with their findings, but impressed with their knowledge and professional approach.

Thanks for the update....Be sure to post what they found.

Just curious, what did the full inspection cost and how long did it take?

The cost was $150 which included 2 technicians and about an hour or a bit more of work. Also included was car facts (commercial version) and region value evaluation to see if you are buying it about right. Good news was the car fax was clean and gave us a good history and the evaluation said we got a good deal. We will know how clean and how good of a deal come next Tuesday when we meet the tech to review the findings. At that point we can continue the purchase..... or NOT! but I will be surprised if they find anything major the dealer can't fix.
