Problem w Allegro entrance steps
My 2015 Allegro RED has a switch to allow me to leave the entrance steps extended when I am stopped at a campsite. Yesterday that switch apparently failed because I cannot prevent the steps from opening and closing every time I open or close the door. I am currently traveling and hope that there is some type of simple fix?? Can anybody help ??

Is the engine off and the key removed from the ignition?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
The steps should always retract when the engine is started, regardless of the position of the switch! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Sounds like your steps think your ignition is on and/or your parking brake is not set. Also, you could just have the switch in the wrong position.

I had the same issue with 2015 RED last year, it was not the switch it was the actual motor that went bad, easy to replace I did it under an hour. Mine would open and close when ever it wanted once we were parked. Good luck!!!!

I’ve had many issues with the steps. For now, I just pull the fuse when we get where we’re going

We too have had some problems with our 34QFA. We learned that the ignition key must be removed for the steps to remain down. Also, on the door jamb, swing side, there is a metal button that is the door switch. Sometimes that metal button switch hangs. A shot of lubricant will solve that problem.
Good luck.

I had the same issue with the steps this week. I called Tiffin service. The tech told me to make sure the brass door contacts on the hinge side were clean. I cleaned the contact and the steps are working normally.
The tech also told me to check the wiring underneath. he said the white wire was for the stop/lockout, red for constant current, and make sure you had a good ground.

Steps retracted
My steps seem to be stuck in the retracted position. It helps to read the prior comments. Let me know if any other ideas/comments/recommendations come to mind. Thank you in advance.
