I have to replace a wiring harness on the back of the toilet and wonder what to expect. It sits right over the black tank and not sure if it has a wax ring like residential toilets or not. I need to loosen the two screws that keep the toilet to the ground and pull it 4 inches from the wall.

If you have any insight on this would appreciate your response.

Wax seal are not used in the RV business. You can order on amazon a replacement seal. Thetford 33239 Closet Flange Seal 3

In order to move it you will have to unscrew/unbolt it from floor AND disconnect water supply then lift it UP and move it

A foam gasket is used vs wax ring on floor flange

Have an old towel or shirt to stuff in to the hole to keep the smells in the tank. Something large enough that there is NO chance it will fall into the hole. And something old enough that you won't miss it when you throw it away.

After you've unbolted the two bolts holding it to the floor and separated the water pipe at the hand tighten connection (the one with the two wings to enable it to be grabbed), straddle the toilet and grab it on both sides about opposite the down pipe. As you pull up twist the toilet from side to side, do not rock it. the toilet will come straight up. It's connected to the sewer down pipe with an insert fitting and a large, lubricated "O" ring. Duck walk out of the bathroom and set the toilet down on some rags or newspaper where you can work on it. You can lay the toilet on it's side so you can work on the back and the bottom to replace any parts you need. I just replaced the rubber seal on mine because it wouldn't hold water. BTW, when you go to replace the toilet, make sure the flange on the floor is wiped clean and the flange and "O" ring on the toilet is wiped clean and lubricated with a light coating of grease. I use an old jar of Vaseline, but silicon grease would work too.
