There are two of the latches like below on the window. The center thumb control pulls the plastic line to latch/unlatch the window and these lines are prone to breaking. Replacements are available from the Tiffin online store for about $2.38 each, part #5028925
You can manually unlatch the window using the finger pull tab in the center of the latch.

LT Dan
We don't see a "pull lever forward" on the latch??
I wonder how one gets to the latch to replace it?
The window is in the slide by the bed and I removed all kinds of screws but
wonder how to get to the old latch??
Thanks

We have the same bus. If you look at the window, under the lip of the window frame( where latch is) you’ll feel two screws .

The photo looks the same as ours--even scratched from the blind!
I removed the 2 screws and now what do we do?
Thanks

Well that’s as far as I can get you I assumed that those two screws hold that latch in place and you could lift it up from there. Now you’ve got me stumped and I’m not gonna take mine apart to find out.

Window Latches
How to open a stuck window
I have a new 2017 Tiffin Allegro Bus and the windows are very tight and stiff to operate. There is a small plastic pin that is used to “pull” the lock when the window is closed and locked. On my rig these pins break or come off and the window will not open. I have learned that the thin plastic cover, running from the top to bottom (or left to right) in the window center, over the latch and center lock release knob, may be easily pried off at the top and bottom. It cannot be removed since it runs behind the center knob and under the handle used to normally open the window. This reveals the two sliders, one at the top and one at the bottom. These sliders may be operated manually… slide both the top and bottom towards the window center to “pull” the locks out of their slots, freeing the window. The window should now pull inwards and you can slide the window sideways to open, as usual.
How to replace a window latch
Once the window is open, you can access the two screws that hold on the window handle. Remove the screws and handle and put aside until later. After the handle has been removed you can easily remove the thin plastic cover that was captured under the handle. Now the latch can be removed using the two screws holding it to the window frame. Note that each slider also has 2 screws holding them onto the latch. No need to remove the sliders.
You will notice the two rods connecting the center knob to each slider. More than likely one of the rods will not be connected. The plastic pin on the slider arm normally goes through a hole in the rod and has a “mushroom” head to secure the pin in the hole. The pin may be broken, or the “mushroom” head on the pin may be broken off, allowing the pin to slip out of the hole. In either case, the knob will fail to “pull” the lock out of the slot making the window impossible to open.
A new latch may be installed by reversing this procedure. I recommend using silicon spray on the sliders and window tracks (both top and bottom) to ease the window operation. Any rough places may be smoothed using a file. Once repaired use care when opening or shutting each window.

Sorry
Sorry, Gary,
I did this work 7-8 years ago, and at that time didn't take pictures. I did this write up, just in case I needed to repeat the process. It took me a little bit to figure it out. I've noticed some people seem to possibly have the issue, so I try to share. BTW, I appreciate all the posts you share. I've learned a lot.

Window lock
Most of these RV windows come from LCI - Lippert Components. Call them, I’m certain they will see you another.

Where can I get the plastic strap that connects the latch to the handle knob? It’s about 5” long.

I need a few of these as well. They are not included in the latch kit from Tiffin so they need to be sourced elsewhere. Any ideas?

They should be attached to the window latch kit. The photo in their web store doesn't show, but the pull cord is about 10" long and has to be cut to fit and "mushroomed" with a hot iron.

I'm talking about the part you put the "pull cord" into that attaches to the central lever that you use to open both sides at the same time. It's a long plastic piece with two holes on the end. See attached picture.
