Rear cap seam repair

Need to repair the rear cap seam. It looks like it is separating from the side wall and rear cap. Not sure what would cause it. It is a 2004 Tiffin Allegro Bus 38 TGP. Do you have to go through the closet to repair and what type of sealant do you recommend? I will try and get a picture loaded of the area. Thanks for any help in advance. Brian

No I just noticed it yesterday. I am going to climb up there after work and take a look. I will get better pictures today and post too. I am not sure if it is glued or just sealant. I would imagine it has to be held together with hardware too.

I had the same problem on my 2009. There are screws (what else does Tiffin use) that are under the sealant on the cap. The repair is from the top. I scraped and cleaned all sealant off, used acetone to clean the area really good, then used larger screws to replace them. Some were broken or missing on mine and were definitely too small for holding the cap on. I replaced all the screws and then used CSL self-leveling sealant to cover it good.
I also checked the bolts that hold it on the sides but they were still ok. I did tighten them. Access to those bolts is from underneath looking up. You will see the bracket and bolt.

I will look for the bracket and screws. I sent Tiffin an email asking what type sealant I will look for the CSL.

Inspect and repair anything you find on roof.. like front cap.. vents.. anything that goes through the roof.. many members here post.. you can contact manufacturers and get a sealant call out sheet.. for maintenance..
Good luck and keep us posted
