Recommended Water pressure
2021 Allegro Red 33AA- what is recommended ‘safe’ park water pressure?
We use a regulator to set inlet water at 40 psi. Then thru a blue RV water filter.
Thanks

I set my regulator to 50 psi, but I only hook up to shore water to fill my FW tank. I always use the pump. That way if there's a leak, I will hear the pump running, or cutting in and out when it should not be.
BTW, I was at a park with over 100 psi last week!

Most onboard water pumps are set to 50 psi so 50 psi from city water makes sense.

My 2020 33AA has a sticker in the wet bay saying max pressure is 60psi. I’ve been to parks with 100 psi. That is why I always use a regulator even on the black tank flush.

I have never thought about using a regulator on the black tank flush. Is it best to use a regulator on it? My thinking is that I want lots of pressure blasting out the black tank, but is that good thinking or not?
Thanks,

I don’t know, but I’m afraid of high pressure ripping apart the black tank fittings. For me, better safe than sorry.

Thanks; I'll start using my pressure regulator before my 'Y' fitting so both hoses are protected. That is a good idea. I do use a back flow preventer before my black flush hose is attached also.

I run my regulator @ 45# which gives me all the pressure I need. I connect it to the FHU faucet then screw my Wye to the regulator. I don't use one of those puny plastic Wyes either. Mine is large and made out of metal and the inside opening is at least 5/8" when the valves are open as opposed to some of the cheapies which reduce the opening to 5/16" or 3/8".
Pressure is one thing while volume is another. With enough volume you don't need to be knocked over in the shower to get wet. Heck, you don't even need to run around in the shower.
Want to fill a pail? Open the other side of the Wye and have at it but hang onto the pail's handle. It'll get heavy quickly. I keep a 6' hose attached to the Wye to help control the fast flow.
One variant someone might run into could be if your RV is equipped with a clothes or dish washer. It would be best to check the recommended pressure requirements if in fact there were any.
