RED Music Inputs
OK, all you RED owners. Just to the left of the Kenwood unit on the dash is a rubber cover over a USB outlet and a mini-plug. I figured both were input options. But I can't get the mini-jack to do ANYTHING in or out. Any clues?

Those outlets are strictly power for charging, not audio inputs. IF you have the Kenwood NAV system, there should be a USB pigtail either in the cabinet area below the radio or tucked up under the dash for the radio USB. IF you have the non NAV radio, there is a USB port on the front panel.

Not sure how I'd use a mini-jack to charge anything. I've not fiddled with the USB yet. There are two USB charge stations to the right of the Kenwood, but these are to the left of the Kenwood. So I was assuming they are inputs, not outputs.

Unless they have made a major change from our '15 RED, those are all charging stations that can be used with any phone, tablet, camera, TPMS, etc that is powered with a USB cable. The radio input should be on a cable in the cabinet or under the dash.

Lt Dan, Tiffin has in fact changed. The plug the OP was talking about is the same USB Data input / pigtail you were talking about. It is now on the dash. The mini-plug is also for the Kenwood, but I don't remember the function and don't have my notes with me.

I can't find anything anywhere in the Kenwood info that talks about how to use a mini-plug (aux) input. But there certainly should be one.

Found it!!! The stereo head has two video options, named Video 1 and Video 2 by default. The mini-jack is actually connected to Video 2 by Tiffin. In the setup menu, you can rename the inputs. I spotted an 'Aux' name option, which clued me in that one of the two videos was likely hooked up to this jack. Viola. I renamed it and now have an easy non BT way to play my music!

Thank you, I stand corrected. I always wondered why the USB was in the cabinet and not on the dash. That's a good change.

Texas....Thanks for doing your homework on this. We have a 2017 AB 40 SP and I just pulled the rubber cover off of my plug the other day and wondered what it went to. Like Lt Dan our 2016 Red had the USB dangling in the cabinet under the dash.

We had to get out a flashlight and locate the chord via the bottom right cabinet. Now it is taped to the cabinet. We found this out via a Youtube.
