Refrigerator conversion

I am sure there are many, but I am having trouble searching for refrigerator conversion articles by search. I have a 2005 Tiffin Allegro Bus and the Norcold 1200 died. I am going to replace with house type and have been told that with my 2000 inverter for sure the Samsung RF18 will work with cabinet mods, are there any others that will work without having to modify and move electric?

Refrigerator conversion

Check out https://jc-refrigeration.com/products/

They have a replacement residential cooling unit to replace the original elec/gas unit. Just replace the cooling unit and keep your original fridge

I just found this the other day so I have not tried it yet but plan to replace mine with it this year

I replaced one cooling unit with a new Amish unit. Refer didn't cool any better than the OEM unit. Turns out the door gaskets were bad and couldn't be replaced. You had to buy new doors and it wasn't worth it. We traded the MH in and the newer on has a residential one. Much nicer.

JC Refrigeration (Amish) makes a residential conversion. Running on ac if you have an ice maker and it draws only.08 amps.
The DC conversion draws 5.5 amps. Three year warranty upgrade to 6 for 150.00 dollars.
No cabinet work.

You might have to go back 4-5 years to find lots of articles on refrigerator conversions as almost all new units come with residential style refrigerators.

While planning your conversion, you might want to also budget for a pure sine wave inverter as it opens up the possibilities of what refrigerator you can use. Then the search can focus on what fits in the space available (without too many cabinet modifications). If you don't want to change, the Samsung is a good refrigerator and far better than the original gas absorption unit it will replace.

I just looked at a 07 Tiffin Phaeton and the owner commented that the square wave factory inverter wouldn't drive the new circuits in the Whirlpool refrigerator....

He had to remove the bay window to remove the old refrigerator and install the new Whirlpool.... in the change he removed the factory inverter and installed a 2400 watt full sine wave inverter....

My neighbor is in the process of replacing his Norcold with a residential. He has added a second inverter dedicated just to the fridge plus two more house batteries for the new inverter.
