I bought a Kenwood DDX5707S receiver that has Apple Carplay. I use RV Life GPS on my my cell phone and display the maps on the receiver. The maps are always current and routed for RV size.

DNX570TR Direct Replacement

I replaced my DNX570TR that failed in my 2015 BUS 45OP. I contacted Triple H Electronics at the factory in Red Bay. They have the DNX775RVS that is a direct replacement for the 570. It fits in the same opening and the connections to the antennas and audio inputs/outputs are identical. All that needs to be done is wire the power input to the new harness. About a 30 minute job. It has a slightly larger screen, Apple CarPlay, XM and a faster processor for map/route acquisition and updates. It also comes with an Android Tablet that allows the copilot to see the maps and control all the radio and map functions. Very cool. Pricey at $1499 but the ease of installation and the tablet control made sense to me. I added the dash cam that may also be purchased from Triple H. Triple H was very easy to deal with and were very helpful with the installation. I called them several times with questions and were there to help. I shopped around for the identical system and did not find it cheaper. Especially for the help I received.

If anyone has purchased a Kenwood in dash GPS that is comparable to the DNX775RVS If you would post what you found I would appreciate it very much.
the Rand McNally on our 2019 bus got us into big problems. Tiffin promised to replace it free with Kenwood that came on 2020 bus. we decided to buy the trusted Garmin RV 890. we are very happy with the product. i installed cig lighter socket on my right side under the dash and position the GPS in the upper drawer in the center. (i lock the drawer in the open position, didnt want to drill holes in the dash) i also installed another plug on the pass side arm rest for my wife, so she dont need to drag the wire. it situated nicely in the cup holder with no additional support. we also use the i phone as backup at the same time.

I've been using a RV760LMT for six years now and can plan a complete trip day by day in BaseCamp and upload it to the unit.

And, thank you for your service!
Absolutely agree with the stand alone GPS. I bought a high end Kenwood radio with GPS, years ago for a 2015 Sprinter Based Class C. Between paying for updates and limited features, the GPS was totally bare bones. For 1/3 the price, when we bought our Tiffin Breeze and a stand alone unit. The Kenwood and Pioneer units just are a money sink. And updating them was, not sure if they improved the process, a royal PITA.

The same is basically true for any In Dash GPS we have had in our cars. It's a income stream for the Auto Manufacturers. Usually a monthly charge for features like traffic and map updates are typically at least $100.

You can buy a new GPS every 3 or 4 years for those fees.

I have to lean towards the Stand Alone model whereas I am stuck on Garmins multi function assets. that beaing said it also has Free updates for the life of each model. Very user friendly.....Got the bean bag mount on all my upgrades worked great. I won*t bash other products as I don*t know enough about them...but if it*s not broke *why fix it*. Safe Travels Good luck on your choice

We mounted our iPad on the dash, running RV Life Pro. Don't need no stinkin GPS, or radio for that matter. Now I just need to source a new 8-track and I should be gtg. Because it's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play, I begin dreaming

There are some Android dash units on Amazon that look good. The ATOTO brand specifically. I like that you can download the apps into the head unit and access the streaming & navigation functions directly. Or use Android Auto. Gets you away from having to purchase map updates ever again. I just wish the TPMS accessory worked better.

How is the radio removed from the dash? Does the faceplate come off and it is obvious, or do you have to remove the dash panel?

I've not removed this one yet, but others that I have removed use special stamped metal L-shaped "tools" that you push in on both sides. That releases the radio from the catches on each side. Then you pull it out with those same tools. Best way to do it is to get the manual. It will show you where those catches are located (probably center on each side). Commonly, those tools are with the manual, but you could make your own with some scrap sheet metal.

I don't remember the site, but one site I looked at the removal tools came with the unit.

I'm sure if you went to youtube or Crutchfield.com there will be videos on doing this.

I think all units should have the tools, but the original owner may have tossed them once it was installed.

With all the Thanksgiving sales and cyber-Monday sales, I couldn’t find any DNX 775RVS on sale. The best price I found so far is $1499.00 If you have seen a cheaper price would appreciate the name of the store so I can take a look.

I just ordered a 775 from Triple H in Red Bay at full price. The only "deal" I found was an open box on Ebay for $800. Since the guy posts no returns, I did not want to take a chance.
