RIP Allegro Bus 37AP and 40AP

I saw the 2023 Tiffin Bus advanced brochure. I was quite surprised and a bit shocked that Tiffin is dropping both the 37AP and 40AP floorpans. I guess the bath and a half floor plans in the larger coaches is taking over. I owned a Phaeton 40IH and the half bath was a waste of space for my tastes and intended use of a motorhome.

Agreed, that really surprises me too. I thought those were great floorplans. Seems kinda silly for the demographic of couples who don't routinely have guests (IMO).

With a central bath it actually works quite well with guests, from our experience. It functions like a "jack and Jill" bathroom in a house. I guess the Tiffin ran the numbers and figured it wasn't worth it. I wonder if they will eliminated this floor plan from the Allegro Red and Phaeton lineup as well.

Obviously you did not travel with my wife. She owned the rear bath in our 2014 40SP. I was delegated to the half bath. Worked great for both of us. Jeff

As an owner of a 2016 40AP, I agree with your sentiments. The mid bath is most convenient and the large rear closet is more than convenient. But what do I know; I just an old dinosaur.

I don’t use the walk in closet or master bath in our house. My wife has claimed them even though they are both huge. I would imagine if we bought a 2 bath coach the 2nd smaller bath would be mine. I think most 2 bath coaches are just his and hers baths.

My Entegra has a single central bath. We think it's perfect for us as well as guests.

We just wouldn't have any use for a second bathroom. We'd rather have the space.

I love our 37AP. We are a couple traveling without kids, so I didn't want to waste the space on a 2nd bath. If necessary, there is always the camp bathrooms.

I agree with jkorn's post. The rear full bathroom is my wife's space (except when I shower), and the mid half bathroom is my space. When our adult children travel with us to destinations, the mid coach half bath is great to have. Except, one time, when our daughter-in-law entered the half bathroom and locked the door...and for some reason, it stayed locked after she exited the half bathroom and shut the door. I keep a straightened paper clip in the console in the front of the motorhome, to push into the hole on the outside half bathroom door knob, to open it, if that ever happens again.

One of the Best Floor Plans 37AP , 40AP

Our 20018 40AP bus was a perfect floor plan for us. Great Storage, access to full bath while traveling, very livable. That is until Wife deciding that we really need a bath and a half. You know how that story goes. Stay safe.

Well I guess there will be no Bus in my future. We love the 37PAset up in out RED and so now the next upgrade will be a Phaeton which still offers the mid bath.

Bummer. My fav floorplans.

One bath is fine. We'd rather the additional space in the living area.

I've always loved the AP floor plan since its initial launch (at one time Tiffin's hottest selling floorplan if I recall correctly), but I hated the placement of the TV off to the side vs directly across from the seating. One would have hoped they would have fixed the TV placement vs. nuking the mid single bathroom floorplan.

Best,
-Mark
