Roof mounting a Poynting antenna

Mounting a Poynting antenna on the roof of a 2012 Tiffin Breeze BR28.The antenna requires a 22mm hole drilled through the roof for the cable. Looking for recommendations and or precautions. I want to mount it on the passengerís side so the cable enters in the cabinet above the passengerís seat. Has anyone drilled trough a Tiffin roof in this area? I do not believe there is electrical run in this area based on the wire harness drawing but the aluminum frame may be an issue.

I was in the same situation so here is what I did. I made a base out of angle iron and a metal plate for the antenna to sit on, slightly above the ac units and other things on the roof. I then ran the cables into the front of the coach cap where Tiffin had run other wires. I didn't use the hole they had because it did not have enough room but I drilled a hole next to it and then attached an outdoor electrical boxn for the wires to enter yet keep any moisture out.

Like most people I was nervous to just drill a hole so I bought a small endiscope (not sure if this is the right word) from amazon that is essentially a 1/4 inch camera on a flexible tube. I used a step bit to drill a 1/4 inch hole then put the camera (attaches to cell phone to view the images) in the hole to make sure it was safe to keep drilling.

I have since used that same hole and setup to add another antenna and it works really well. Hope this makes sense and gives you a way to move forward.

I did pretty much the same as brandss. The box will allow more cables without more holes.

Thanks Brandss, I did look at going through the cap and still may. I do have an endoscope which has helped routing other cables.

Tetranz , that looks good.

I completed the antenna installation, had to adjust my hole location closer to wall. Antenna is on the edge of the roof but still on flat surface. My first pilot hole at 4.5" from wall hit metal so had to move to 2.75" from wall.
