RV Air Filter AC-140C

Has anyone replaced their standard round airfilters with one of these ? They look too thick to replace them. The old ones are paper thin.

Never tried them, I would be concerned with air flow restriction.

Have used them for years. They fit. Have not measured airflow but have noticed no issues. Cools or heats fine.

Best RV filter's on the market hands down, perform just fine and filter very well.

I make my own from a roll of 6 MERV material which is what the AC-140c are made from. A 6 ft X 2 ft roll costs about $15 and will yield 4 sets - 2 square and 8 round in each set.

There is more to these filter's than just the 6 MERV material..........

HOW DO RV AIR ACTIVATED CARBON AIR FILTERS WORK?

Carbon by itself is a powerful adsorbing agent. That’s adsorb with a “d.” (In absorption — with a “b” — foreign particles are drawn into something, whether it’s a solid material or a liquid. In adsorbtion, foreign particles adhere to the surface of the adsorbing agent.
The more surface area that a carbon particle has, the more it can convince impurities to stick to it. Activated carbon has a larger surface area to bond with odors because it is porous.
These charcoal air conditioner filters are also a great barrier against airborne contaminants, like pollen, dust, bacteria, mold spores, pet dander and other allergens. Our MERV 6 patented filter system cleans the air before it gets into your RV’s air conditioner, capturing particles as small as three to 10 microns.

I purchased 16 of these in 4 paks, kind of expensive. Instructions say not to wash them. Used them, then put the foam filters back in. Washed the RVAir units, dried and used them again. It is my inexpert opinion that the washed RVAir units will filter better than the foam. I swap back and forth, notice no difference in temps/dust in coach/use before looking dirty. Just my opinion...

Works well for me. Got the round (no carbon) discs from RVAir and some flat sheets (cut to fit for the square ones) from Walmart. It's been 90+ in Florida and still cools well.

I’ve used them for about 3 1/2 years and love them.
