RV Garage Home Width
I haven't been able to do a measurement yet but wondering what the overall width of my 2013 Phaeton 36GH is with the slides out. We want to start looking at RV Garage Homes and builders and want to advise what the garage dimensions should be to have the slides out and be able to walk around the coach while in the garage. Can't find this in any Tiffin literature?

Run a search on 'RV Garages'. You'll find hundreds of posts. You'll want min of 20 x 50.

One thing to take in consideration is if you want to work on your rig inside with the sides out. I see some designs that are just enough in width to park there rig. Also if you go minimum width be sure to have a wider garage door opening. Less prone to backup accidents.

I made mine 30 x 50 with a 14' x 14' roll up door and 3' on either side of the door. This allows me to open all slides and still have another couple of feet or so to walk by the mh with the slides out.
The other side of the garage I have a 8'x9' roll up door (next to the 14' door) that I can use to run in my two quads, utility trailer, and my Tundra. With everything inside, I have ample room to walk around everything.
If you only want the garage for the mh, you can figure on the 102" for the coach and an additional 72" for the slide and walk space. That gives you almost 15 width. With that in mind, I would not go less than 20' width on the garage.

RV Garage Home Width
If it is hard to imagine the opening, let slides out, walk around MH, set up some stakes adjacent to the corners giving room for working around the MH, This should give you some idea as to the clearance you desire.

We have a Tiffin RED 36QSA which should be the same size as yours.
Our RV garage is an oversized carport. 18 x 41 with 12 foot actual walls before the roof slope.
The 18 foot width allows all the basement doors and/or all slides to be open at same time. Not much to spare but they all clear.

I totally agree. My garage is basically that size and allows me to store my 45 foot DP with all slides open, and still open the bay doors. I would not go smaller, but of course bigger is always better. My overhead door is 16 wide by 14 high and very easy to get in and out of. You could make do with 14 wide, but 16 is luxurious. Do not go less than 14 high for your door.

Yeah what TurtleKent said. Also see if they can slope the floor and put in several floor drains. Sure would be nice to be able to wash it inside out of the sun.

Thanks So Much
Thanks for the confirmation, I was kicking around the same ideas and nice to see you all have figured it out. Off to Mesquite NV to see what might be available or what builders would be up to the task....

Remember, the doors swing out wider than the slides.
