Sanitizing - Trick for Getting Bleach Solution in Tank
I am new to RVs. When I sanitized our coach, after half filling the tank, I poured the bleach directly into the hose then filled the tank with the hose. This was effective, but messy. What is the preferred way to get the bleach solution into the tank?

Into an empty filter housing if you have an inlet filter.

I guess you don't have a gravity fill for filling the water tank?
I do like you did, and pour a small amount of bleach into the water hose, then fill the water tank. It doesn't take much bleach if the tank is regularly used and you are on city water. (city water already has sanitizers in it).

My 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire has a pump with attached hose that is used for sucking up winterizing anti-freeze solution into the fresh water tank and system. There's also a procedure that uses that same pump/hose to suck up bleach into the fresh water tank for sanitizing. Maybe your coach has something like that?

What part was messy? Hold the hose end up and pour from a paper or plastic cup....not the gallon jug.....easier to pour into the small hose opening that way.

Don’t you have fill door on passenger side of coach?

Yes, but it’s anything 7-8’ off the ground. Have to get a ladder to use that method.

Seems like the easy method. I might have to get such a filter.

How about this? I use it by putting recommended amount of bleach, usually a few a ounces in a bucket and siphon out as I fill the fresh water tank. Then open faucets one at a time until you smell the bleach, let it set then flush until bleach smell is gone.

I don’t think that’s a fill door that far off the ground. Sounds like access to shower. If you have a gravity fill, it should be only 3/4 feet off the ground.

Well, that is a cool idea. I could make something like that using some fittings I have in my "junk" box .

Be certain that your water filter works on inlet water and not outlet water. My non-Tiffin is plumbed to the pressure side so anything coming out of the tank or the City Water connection is filtered but the Fresh Water Fill is not.
How do I know? I removed the filter element for sanitizing, poured the bleach into the hose directly and noticed that the filter housing remained dry until I turned the water pump on.
That finding made me glad I always use an inline water filter to catch some stuff or it would go directly into the fresh water tank.

Yeah, my rig’s built in filter is on the downstream side of the tank. It fills first when winterizing.
