Seeking Tiffin Owners Input
Good Afternoon Everyone!
We are currently Shopping for our retirement Coach. We love the 42' Phaeton and wanted to get some feedback from owners. If any of you would be willing to share your thoughts and experiences we would really appreciate it!
Thanks so much,
Mike-n-Karen

Are you looking at a specific year or model? If buying used some years have some quirks that need to be dealt with.

Tiffin had some problems with coaches from about 2007 to 2012. They seem to have them all taken care of for the 2013 & 2014 model years.
The 2014 Phaeton 42LH is a very nice coach with many upgrades compared to older models, the biggest of which is they are now using the Cummins ISL 400 HP/1250 lb torque engine.

X2
As mentioned above stop by tiffinrvnetwork.com
We have had a couple of other MH brands and now are very happy Tiffin owners.
In 2010 we actually went to the dealer to shop for a Phaeton and bought our RED that day. Tiffin makes great products and stands behind them.

If I'm not mistaken, the 2014 42LH Phaeton has the 450hp ISL. Our 2013 has the 400 (1250 torque). The 2014 40 footers and below have the 380hp ISL (1050 torque).
We've only had our LH for four months (and 4000 miles), but so far it has been an excellent coach...no problems have popped up that I personally haven't been able to deal with. It is very quiet and smooth riding. So far, my only gripe is that the shower could be a little larger (or maybe I could lose some weight )
Do you have specific questions concerning the LH?
Ron

We just bought a 42LH. In fact we will be doing our walk through tomorrow I think.
And I agree with the shower comment. Even the (I could loose a little weight LOL)

Yep, 42LH here and so far very very pleased with it. If you are going to spend any time in cool to cold weather get the electrically heated floors. Here in Indiana it was down to 18 degrees and between the heated floors, fire place, and the AquaHot on electric only it kept the coach at a comfortable 72 without any cold or hot spots; no diesel used.
We are headed to Red Bay next week for the following:
Door leaks in heavy rain, I have fixed it temporarily. Front shades are off center slightly, basement slide keeps sticking. They wired the rear heat to to the middle thermostat, mirror on closet door is lose, and a window latch is broken.
Also having some mods made as well.
We are starting full time and fully loaded (full fuel and 2/3 water, etched. ) we are not even close to or GVW. Our four corner weigh came out good as well, a little heaver on the front PS but well within limits. Handling is excellent, never feel wind push from big trucks and the 450 ISL is more than enough power.
All in all I can't think of a better coach for the money. Toss in Tiffins reputation for customer service and you have a winner.

Paul.. our LH also has the off center front shades and the sticking storage tray. We are a little far from RB, so we'll probably try to get ours fixed in Eugene when we head north in June. The 2013's didn't have the Aqua Hot, heated floors, and the 450 ISL, but the fireplace and a small elect heater does warm up the living room quite easily. We have gone over some very high mountain passes coming down from Oregon and even tho we only have the 400 ISL, it was more than adequate getting us over and keeping up with traffic.
To the OP, the 42' Phaeton comes in two models, so be sure and look at both before making up you mind. Our LH has the ps dinette and ds kitchen which was the deciding factor for us. Both models come with gobs of options so you can really outfit it to your particular likes....of course, getting it just the way you want it may entail ordering it from the factory rather than getting one off of a dealer's lot.
Good luck..
Ron

If you want to really get yourself in the "pull the trigger mood" go to the plant and do the factory tour. After that go to the paint facility and you'll understand why it's Tiffin or nothing for so many.

We have the baby version of the 42LH floor plan (the 36GH). We love the floor plan and find it very livable. We've been fulltiming 5 months now, 3 months in the new coach, and still haven't had any major issues.
Tiffin service (just phone consultations so far) has been great. The tiffinrvnetwork.com is your go to source of everything Tiffin from other owners.
